2) What do you plan to make, and why? How is this making a response to your inquiry?
3) What is the goal of your project, why is it important?
- 30 Mins (15 mins each): Break into pairs. Present your thesis statements to each other. Work together to clarify and simplify these statements.
- 15 Mins: Rework your thesis statements based on feedback. Incorporate them into the presentations of your projects. Make sure that all decisions are working towards these statements.
-- coffee break --
Presentations. 15 minutes presentation, 15 minutes for comments.
/*** HOMEWORK ***/
Prepare an 8 - 10 minute presentation of your two project ideas (4-5 mins for each project). For each project:
- Start with a slide/image of your project statment. Read it.
- Briefly reference relevant precedents if applicable (30 seconds).
- Briefly reference previous iterations if applicable (30 seconds).
- Present your project idea (3 - 4 mins). Include as many images and physical prototypes as is helpful to communicate the idea (more is better than less). Make sure you have an image that illustrates everything you plan to discuss in your presentation. Everyone should include (probably at the end) an image (sketch) showing how the piece is experienced by the viewer. For example, if your piece is an installation then show a sketch of what that installation looks like in a space. Include people to show scale.
Practice your presentation at home prior to class. Make sure not go over 10 mins so as to leave time for comments.
